ABOUT THE GARDENERS

Alan Kettler is an artist with a life-long interest in plants, animals, and nature. His academic background includes a degree in Geography with an emphasis on agricultural ecology and plant anthropology. For 30 years he has operated Kettler Ecological Design, working as a commercial and fine artist specializing in design, photography, illustration, writing, and publishing about nature and ecology. The gardens are an artistic expression of his love of plants and how they can be used to create beauty in any landscape.

He accepts commissions to design gardens for fine residential and commercial properties.

Ms. Yakubisin is the owner of the acclaimed River's Edge Cafe. She has studied horticulture and has spent the last 20 years creating beautiful gardens around her cafe on the river.

Together, the two work and collaborate on making the gardens ever more beautiful. It is certainly an ongoing process here along the river as we add more plants to our collection, and the plants grow larger as they mature.
